Set of criteria for evaluation and design of multimedia applications in instructional context
Abstract
Making multimedia software implies knowing how to write multimedia documents. Our works is oriented toward the research of relevant literature that could help understanding what multimedia means. We specifically study multimedia software used in an educational context. We particularly focus on finding relevant criteria that describe several domains of textual, visual and sound documents, trying to underline their specificity. This paper presents a summary of the criteria we organised, along with the description of two methods we develop to apply them: The first one is a method to assist in evaluating multimedia interactive pedagogical software and the second one is a method to help designing such applications.
